About the society

Enactus P.G.D.A.V. is the P.G.D.A.V. College chapter of Enactus that was constituted in the year 2015. We, at Enactus P.G.D.A.V. are determined to uplift and empower those people,
who, due to poverty, helplessness, disability, or any other social or
economic disadvantage, could not enter the mainstream society. We
aim to achieve global goals through sustainable, smart business
solutions that can help community members and provide them with
better means of livelihood. Through our economic, social, and
environmentally sustainable business models, we have also represented
our college projects at the Enactus World Cup and other such
platforms so that our work is recognised by the global community and
help in creating a better future.

Project Korakagaz:

Project Korakagaz aims to empower women from marginalised communities both economically and
socially by providing them the dexterity of producing and marketing notebooks and
diaries and keeping financial records, along with providing them regular wages during
whole process. The notebooks are made using recycled paper. We have also
successfully created one entrepreneur who is now running her own label.

Project Nistaaran:

Project Nistaaran aims to empower the ragpickers both socially and economically by providing them with the skills and network required to produce and market organic manure. This manure is produced using domestic waste collected from the residential colonies of South Delhi. The revenue generated from the sale of manure acts as an additional source of income for the ragpickers. We aim to spread awareness amongst smaller levels, such as households and communities, about proper waste segregation and recycling practises that would eventually create a larger environmental impact.

Project Sugandh:

Since Vedic times, people in India have been using incense sticks at various auspicious occasions, religious festivals, and social celebrations. The team Enactus PGDAV found that most incense sticks on the market contain a high amount of charcoal, which, when burned, releases harmful gases like carbon monoxide, polluting the air around. Therefore, in order to mitigate the toxicity emitted by ordinary incense sticks, Enactus PGDAV has come up with its all-new, eco-friendly venture, Project Sugandh. Under the project, we will provide incense products made purely out of cow dung and other organic material, thus minimising the use of charcoal. These incense products are hand-rolled by the women of vulnerable sections of society, providing them with a livelihood. Project Sugandh thus aims to protect people from malicious health problems, nurture the environment, and also empower deprived communities.

Project Hope:

In order to raise awareness of mental health, lessen the stigma associated with it, and assist people in coping with mental disorders, Enactus P.G.D.A.V.'s Project Hope was launched online in the year 2020.

Project Hope has so far conducted a number of successful webinars and helped students deal with mental health challenges.

We have come a long way in this journey of ours and hope to continue to achieve more goals.

Major events organised

Details of Events organised in/planned for this session

  1. WASTE COLLECTION DRIVE (September 2022)

In the month of September, Enactus P.G.D.A.V. organised its second edition of the waste collection drive. The drive's main goal was to gather plastic and paper waste. Enactus volunteers went around the college educating people about proper waste disposal and inspiring them to do so. We were able to successfully gather more than 10 kg of waste over the course of three days. Specifically for this drive, we worked together with a company, and they helped us recycle the waste. In addition to recycling the paper trash, the gathered plastic bottles were transformed into standard bottles.

  1. DIWALI HAMPER PROJECT (October, 2022)

Our recent initiative, "Diwali Hamper Manufacturing and Selling’ was another step in the direction of social entrepreneurship. We had marginalised women from an NGO, who were victims of domestic violence and gender-based discrimination, who produced beautiful, affordable, and eco-friendly Diwali hampers for Diwali. This gave them a sense of self-reliance and independence as they worked and earned via their own efforts and hard work. Moreover, through the sale of these hampers in various markets and to family, friends, colleagues, and employees, the generated revenue and profit went towards uplifting such women who belonged to the marginalised community. Empowering the weaker sections of society in any and every possible way will always be our driving force and continue to motivate us to do and be better.

  1. WEBINAR ON SOCIAL ANXIETY (October, 2022)

Dr. Damini Grover presented as the keynote speaker for an online interactive session on "Social Anxiety" organised by Project Hope of Enactus PGDAV on October 4, 2022.Dr. Damini Grover went into great detail during the webinar and was quite enlightening. Many students showed up for the session and engaged in lively conversation. She also answered the doubts and inquiries raised by the students.
