Law, Management Accounting and Organizational Behavior

Dr. Gitu Nijhawan is a faculty member in the Department of Commerce, P.G.D.A.V. College (Morning), University of Delhi. She holds a Ph.D. from Amity University and earned her B.Com. (Hons.), M.Com., and M.Phil. degrees from the University of Delhi. She has also qualified the UGC-NET. Her teaching and research interests include Business/Company Law, Organizational Behaviour, Sustainability, and Management Accounting.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Nijhawan has served as a Visiting Faculty for PGDM programmes at IIM Bhubaneswar, S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Delhi, IGNOU, Lloyd Business School, and Lloyd Law College, contributing to management education through interdisciplinary and practice-oriented pedagogy.

Dr. Nijhawan is the author of two books, several book chapters, and numerous research papers published in reputed national and international journals. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and actively participates in Faculty Development Programmes, Refresher Courses, Orientation Programmes, workshops, and professional training programmes, reflecting her commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence.

As the Nodal Officer and Convenor of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Club @2047, Dr. Nijhawan collaborated with MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, to conceptualize and lead several flagship academic, leadership, and community engagement initiatives that promoted innovation, civic responsibility, financial literacy, youth leadership, and nation-building. These initiatives engaged hundreds of students from over 50 colleges and universities, strengthening institutional outreach, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student leadership.

She has also contributed significantly to institutional development through her active involvement in the Research Cell, NAAC, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Purchase Committee, Timetable Committee, Discipline Committee, Screening Committee, Short-Term Programmes, and several other academic and administrative responsibilities. Her contributions extend to curriculum development, student mentoring, dissertation supervision, quality assurance, faculty development, and the organization of academic events.

In recognition of her innovative contributions to higher education, Dr. Nijhawan was honoured as the Teacher-in-Charge of the "Best Digital Video Presentation" among Commerce colleges of the University of Delhi at ANTARDHWANI 2014.

Dr. Nijhawan remains committed to advancing higher education through quality teaching, impactful research, academic leadership, institutional development, and the holistic development of students.
